BBC Two

BBC Two's remit is to be a mixed-genre channel appealing to a broad adult audience with programmes of depth and substance.

It should carry the greatest amount and range of knowledge-building programming of any BBC television channel, complemented by distinctive comedy, drama and arts programming.

Current service licence

BBC TwoThe Trust reissued this service licence in April 2016 with an amended baseline budget for the year 2016/7. In giving approval to this change, the Trust has been assured by the BBC Executive that the change to the budget does not reflect any change to the remit, scope or other stated key characteristics of the service.
